Midland Community Healthcare Services is a 501(c)(3) non-profit based in Midland, Texas which was established in 2003 as a separate and independent entity from Midland Memorial Hospital(MMH) and a larger umbrella agency, the Midland County Hospital District(MCHD).
Texas Department of Health
The MCHS clinics have been approved by the Texas Department of Health and the Texas Association of Community Healthcare Centers. MCHS is officially certified by the Centers for Medicare/Medicaid Services (CMS) as a Federally Qualified Health Care – Community Health Center (FQHC-CHC) designated grantee on April 11, 2005 effective December 1, 2005. Additionally, MCHS is one of the fastest growing FQHC-CHC’s in the state, underscoring the strong and growing need for services in this region.
Operational
MCHS is able to operate as a FQHC-CHC; a structure that MMH was ineligible for. It is this FQHC-CHC status that has been the key to MCHS’s success, growth and continued viability which effectively meeting the demands for service in Midland County. MCHS and MMH continue to have a mutually supportive, positive relationship.
The Joint Commission
MCHS has earned The Joint Commissions Gold Seal of Approval. This seal of approval demonstrates MCHSs dedication to complying with the Joint Commissions state-of-the-art standards on a continuous basis.
